Heller Maquinaria's service team has developed new guards for the famous conventional lathe model CE460Vx1000
The conventional lathes from Heller Maquinaria are the flagship product in the whole range of metal-cutting machinery the brand works with. Heller offers a wide variety of lathes in different sizes, among which we can also single out the CE series with variable speed drive.
In this case we will focus on the CE460vX1000, a model widely used in different industrial sectors for its versatility, size and power.
The Heller CE460Vx1000 centre lathe is a machine designed to cover a wide variety of machining applications. With a bed length of 1000 mm and a maximum swing diameter of 460 mm, this lathe has a variable speed drive and a headstock with a maximum speed of 1800 rpm.

Initial situation:
An international customer who already owned several Heller machines needed a conventional centre lathe, in this case the CE460x1000 version but with a variable speed drive (CE460Vx1000). The customer also required special safety features for its use.
Technical and mechanical development
Heller Maquinaria considered different options for reinforcing the machine's safety features, presenting sketches and details jointly with the customer.
In the end it was decided to reinforce the lathe with two fold-out windows joined by a hydraulically folding base.
Final result: conventional lathe with reinforced safety features
Heller Maquinaria's service team fully developed this custom-made improvement for the customer at the premises in Monforte del Cid (Alicante, Spain), giving the lathe an even more robust appearance and several different forms of automatic stopping (emergency stop button, safety microswitch, brake pedal and lever).
